Introducing Our New Programme Manager!

As we approach the new year, we’re excited to welcome Savannah to her new role as

Programme Manager at The Catalyst Collective! Since joining us as a Mentor Coordinator in

September 2024, Savannah quickly stepped up, taking on additional leadership

responsibilities and launching mentoring pairs at two partner schools.

Savannah studied Sport and Exercise Science at Birmingham City University and is currently

completing a PhD in exercise respiratory physiology at the University of Kent. Along the way,

she’s gained valuable insight into high-performance sport, having worked with Team GB and

Team GB Para Swimming. Savannah has also taught at universities, sharing her expertise

with the next generation of sport and exercise science professionals. In addition, she joined

the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Advisory Group, were she co-created the first professional development and mentoring

programme for underrepresented groups in this field – a programme she recently completed as a mentee!

When she’s not busy with work, Savannah enjoys exploring new restaurants, capturing

Instagram-worthy shots of food, playing hockey, or unwinding with some reality TV.

As Programme Manager, Savannah is excited to take our core mentoring programme to new

heights, helping empower Black girls to dream big and achieve their fullest potential.

Reflecting on her journey so far, Savannah shared, “I’ve been at The Catalyst for a few

months now, and I am truly energised by the opportunity to work alongside such an

incredible team of Black women. Having spent so much of my studies in male-dominated

spaces, this experience has already been so inspiring. I’m excited to collaborate with other

Black women who are trailblazing in their fields. I’ve always believed in the mantra ‘if you

can’t see it, be it,’ and it’s opened so many doors for me. Now, I’m eager to pay it forward by

inspiring the next generation, particularly Black girls. Outside of my academic work, I’ve

always been passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices in sport and creating

opportunities. I’m beyond excited to now have a full-time role at The Catalyst Collective,

where I can continue to support Black girls and women across all industries in their

journeys.”

We couldn’t be more excited for Savannah to begin her new role in the team!
